The below services are for people living in England, for other areas please refer to your local emergency service.

If you feel you or someone else is in danger due to a mental health crisis, please call 999 or attend your nearest A&E department.

You can also speak to a recognised crisis support charity,

  • Samaritans on 116 123 (UK-wide) text SHOUT to 85258 (UK-wide) (24 hours).
  • Papyrus- prevention of young suicide Papyrus UK Suicide Prevention | Prevention of Young Suicide (papyrus-uk.org) call HOPELINEUK 0800 068 4141, test 078600 39967, email ( 9 am-midnight, every day of the year.)

Other Help

NHS

To access information, support and treatment for mental health problems, there are various options within the NHS listed below.

  • Your GP will be able to assess your symptoms and offer treatment or referral to a specialist service.
  • If you are registered with a GP, you can access your local talking therapies service via NHS talking therapies - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
  • NHS 111 and select option 2 for mental health services.
  • If you are under a specialist medical team, they may be able to offer you advice and support.

Disease-specific charities offer the opportunity to talk about disease-specific concerns and ask specialist questions. Some are listed below but if you have a different disorder, it would be worth speaking to your specialist to find out which charity could help you.
